Day of Prayer
On Friday, May 15, 2020 from 6-7 pm, Alaskans across our great state will join together in an Alaska Day of Prayer via Facebook Live. This is our opportunity to turn to God corporately throughout the conference. As God’s children, we will unitedly pray for Divine intervention and protection. Through prayer we find the strength to advance God’s kingdom, to feed the hungry, care for the poor, comfort the afflicted, make peace where there is strife and for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. There is power in prayer!
You are invited to join our Alaska Conference officers and pastors praying via Facebook Live for our families, churches, and communities. Pray with your family around the living room; pray with your friends by phone; pray with your church members. Go to Facebook, find the search icon and type Alaska Conference of SDA. Be sure to “follow” us so this will automatically notify you of other “live” events.
Live Virtual Townhall Meeting
Join our conference officers via Facebook Live on May 17, 6 pm-7 pm, for the first of our monthly LIVE virtual townhall meetings. Topic for May: AKC & COVID-19. Text questions to 360-362-0417, state your name and church, then question, ex: This is Michael from Fairbanks, my question is…. Go to Facebook, find the search icon and type Alaska Conference of SDA. Be sure to “follow” us so this will automatically notify you of other “live”events.
Staff will be returning to the conference office in limited capacity in the upcoming weeks. The office remains closed to the public until safety protocols can be put in place. In the meanwhile, please continue to reach out via phone 907-346-1004 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your need.
The conference is working with pastors and lay-leaders to re-open churches by mid-May (state and local mandates permitting) following coronavirus guidelines. Church leadership is required to provide a detailed plan outlining protocols to ensure the safety of its members. Please check with your church for up-to-date information.
Pioneer Peak Fundraising: CORRECTION
Thank you to all who have financially supported the renovation of the Pioneer Peak auditorium. Because of you, $20,000 towards the $60,000 goal has been raised. We still need your help to reach our goal! Last month's email incorrectly stated that fundraising for improvements at Pioneer Peak was suspended until fall--only construction was postponed; fundraising continues! Your support in the coming months is greatly appreciated as construction is scheduled for the fall, funding permitting.
