SEPTEMBER 2020
Alaska Conference Presidential Search
By now you may have heard that Kevin Miller has pulled his name for consideration as President for the Alaska Conference at the upcoming constituency session. The North Pacific Union Conference has begun the process to fill the position and is seeking input from the Alaska membership through an anonymous online survey.  A link to the survey has been sent to pastors, head elders and bulletin contacts to share with members, however if you are a member of the Alaska Conference and have not had opportunity to participate, please let us know by sending an email to Brenda Campbell Johnson and the survey link will be sent to you.  The survey is also being sent to delegates (for which we have email addresses) prior to the session on September 20.
18th Alaska Constituency Session
The Alaska Conference's 18th Regular Constituency session will be September 20, 2020 at the Palmer Seventh-day Adventist Church at 2238 S Inner Springer Loop in Palmer Alaska.  Registration opens at 7:45 a.m.; the session opens at 9 a.m.  For health reasons, attendance is limited to elected delegates and delegates-at-large only. Delegate packets have been mailed and should be in homes in just a few days; remember to bring your delegate packet with you to the session!  The session will be live-streamed to the conference Facebook page and available for viewing at leisure on the conference YouTube channel.

Attention Delegates:
  • For those attending in person, we will be social distancing and would like delegates to wear masks for the protection of those who are more vulnerable because of pre-existing physical conditions and age. If you are not feeling well, please contact your pastor or head elder to arrange for an alternate to serve in your stead.
  • Accommodation Change:  Microtel Inn & Suites is NOT operating during COVID-19.  The replacement hotel is the Hampton Inn Anchorage at 4301 Credit Union Way at 907-550-7000.  Please reference your delegate letter for instructions on arranging accommodations.

The Communications department is looking for news of what is happening in your communities in terms of ministry to share with the Northwest Adventist family.  If your church, school, youth group or small group is engaged in ministry, we'd like to share your story.  Here you find guidelines to compile a story for the Gleaner, both print and online.  We also ask that you provide a few clear, high-resolution pictures with captions that help convey your message.  If you have any questions, please contact Brenda Campbell-Johnson at alaskainfo@npuc.org.
