Calendar of the Soul

Week Seven
My self is threatening to fly forth,
Lured strongly by the world's enticing light.
Come forth, prophetic feeling,
Take up with strength your rightful task:
Replace in me the power of thought
Which in the senses' glory
Would gladly lose itself.
THANK YOU to all who came out for our first ever Farm to Table Dinner event. It was such a great night with spectacular weather, amazing, food and drink, and fascinating knife forging! Our 8th graders helped with preparations, provided music and stand up comedy, AND washed dishes late into the night.

Thank you to Kingfisher Organic Farm, Sundance Farm, Olympic Oyster Co. and Sapsucker Farm for providing the food. Thank you to Farmer Lenny, Ms. Smykatz-Kloss and Ms. Rachel for transforming the food into a feast. Thank you to Well80 and Triceratops Breweries for the beverage and Holy Lamb Organics for the napkins. Thank you to Ms. Rachel and Ms. Avery for the childcare. Thank you to Mark and Sarah of Maumasi Fire Arts for the incredible knife forging demo. And thank you to Tiffany Korn, Sarah Maumasi and Lindsey Kibbe for helping set up, serve and clean.

Our glasses are empty, our plates are washed and we're looking forward to gathering again together next year!
Last Thursday, our Middle Schoolers put on "The Wind in the Willows" for our entire school and for the community. The students worked hard to learn their lines, create the scenes, and craft the props and costumes. Many thanks to the middle school faculty and specialty teachers who helped make this such a success. And bravo to our students!

Children nearing or entering middle school need to be ready for more and more adult-like information about sex. Tweens and middle schoolers think, learn and talk about everything related to sexuality. It’s safer for your child to be super-well informed as they encounter all kinds of information about the birds & the bees.

Join PNW Parent Education as they partner with Amy Lang, MA of Birds, Bees, & Kids to bring you Tweens And Sexuality: What Parents/Caregivers Really Need To Know.

Parents/Caregivers will learn:

- What Kids need to know by the time they start middle school
- You’ll learn the #1 unavoidable fact about teen sexuality
- What typical tweens/middle schoolers are up to in the sexual activity department
- The key to getting them to listen to you when you talk about this part of life!
