The Alex Esclamado Memorial Award for Community Service was conceived by NaFFAA and GMA Network to honor the memory of the late Alex Esclamado, NaFFAA Founding Chairman and lifelong advocate of Filipino American unity and empowerment.

The awards are intended to encourage and inspire community workers, volunteers and leaders to continue their selfless endeavors in the service of their respective communities – whether Filipino or mainstream American. Most of all, they are meant to give proper recognition to those who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment and have provided significant and meaningful benefits to their intended recipients.

The awards are open to all Filipino and Filipino American organizations/associations in the United States, including those that are not members of NaFFAA. No entry fee is required of the nominee-organization. However, we request that the awardee(s) be present to receive the Alex Esclamado Memorial Loving Cup at the awards ceremony. The awards will be conferred at the 13th NaFFAA National Empowerment Conference to be held at the Carson Community Center in Carson City, CA on August 15-18, 2019.

Since 1997, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) has been the standard bearer for promoting the welfare and well-being of the four million Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout the United States. As a non-partisan and non-profit organization, NaFFAA is the largest national affiliation of Filipino American institutions, umbrella organizations, and individuals. Its member regions cover the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.
