Next Community-Building Potluck

Our next community-building Potluck will be on Oct. 29 at 10419 Eastbourne Ct., Truckee, from 5-7 PM.  We will be discussing goals and questions in preparation for the Getting-it-Built Workshop. Bring something to share. Families welcome.

Our Second Potluck

We learned that our future neighbors are terrific cooks, important for a community that plans to gather around shared meals.  Thanks to Jan Holan for hosting us in his beautiful home. We had a great group of kids who had fun getting to know each other while the 20 adults discussed our hopes for the new community. Future community members traveled from as far as Minden and Loomis to join us.
After introductions, we went around the circle discussing what we each hoped to gain from Cohousing.  A common theme was wanting to live in community.  Other goals included being able to share our tools and toys, giving children a chance to interact with neighbors of all ages, and Morgan Goodwin's wish: "I'd love to have big outdoor space for the whole co-housing community to gather around the camp fire the way communities have for thousands of years."
