The Grackle Project seeks undergraduate researchers

The Grackle Project is recruiting undergraduates to join a supportive and collaborative research team. Great-tailed grackles are an urban bird that have greatly expanded their geographic range in the past 120 years. Reseachers are examining whether this range expansion might be due to their behavioral flexibility.

If learning how to do bird behavior research sounds interesting, please apply here. While the deadline to earn credit for summer 2018 Session A has passed, research positions will be available year-round. Applications are highly encouraged from individuals belonging to under-represented groups in the sciences.

Transfer Student Ambassadors
apply through June 21

ASU’s community college relations team is hiring several undergraduate Transfer Student Ambassadors to serve as a point-of-contact for students interested in transferring to ASU from a community college in Arizona.

When not attending an ASU or community college event in greater Phoenix, ambassadors will make phone calls to new students from the Academic Partnerships office in Tempe. Ambassadors are responsible for visiting with student leaders, clubs, and organizations; seeing their former community college teachers, and serving as speakers at a variety of events to tell their own transfer stories.

See the job description here and apply before June 21.
Seeking students for STEAM survey
Researchers from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, need your help.

They are working to better understand students, their characteristics, and academic progression beginning in grade school, as well as learn about why different groups graduate at higher rates than others. This research team would like to study students and graduates from STEAM programs. At a later time, they will perform follow-up interviews as part of the study.

No identifying information will be collected (unless you volunteer for an interview at a later date) and the survey takes just a few minutes to complete. They will collect demographics only to study differences in responses based on gender, age and experiences.
