New advising appointment policy: Restrictions on missed appointments

Starting August 1, the School of Life Sciences undergraduate advising office is implementing a new policy regarding missed appointments.

After your second missed appointment each semester, you will be restricted from scheduling an appointment through our online system. Instead, you must call our office at 480-727-6277 or come to the office in person to schedule your next advising appointment.  This next appointment must be a 15-minute express appointment.

Each student is allowed two missed appointments (with no prior communication to cancel/reschedule) per semester. After that, this restriction takes effect. Once you speak with an advisor in an express appointment to clear your restriction, you will still have the first missed appointment on record.  Your number resets to zero at the beginning of each semester.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify our office as soon as possible so another student can benefit from the available appointment time. Questions? Contact our advising team
Pre-health walk-in advising begins Sept.
Considering a career path in medicine, dentistry, optometry or other pre-health areas? Our pre-health office provides walk-in advising in our front office (LSA 189) throughout the fall semester. See our advising calendar below for the schedule dates.

In the meantime, contact the pre-health advising office for more information.
Study abroad sessions A and B now available
The Study Abroad Office is now offering session A and session B programs. You can take six credits during a six-week program during session A or B and still return to campus to complete the rest of your semester.

Many scholarships and financial aid opportunities will apply toward these programs. You can participate in either a faculty-directed or partnership program. See your options here
