I'm pleased to bring you a snapshot of some of the work I have been doing here in Sydney...

Loud Shirt Day 2018

On October the 19th, the City of Sydney celebrated Loud Shirt Day. I am pleased that Council supported my motion at September's Council meeting to get The City of Sydney behind this great cause. Watch my announcement HERE

This was a day to dress in a fun, colourful or loud shirt with friends and colleagues to raise much-needed funds for organisations like The Shepherd Centre in Newtown, a not-for-profit charity that provides early intervention programs and services to children who are deaf and hearing impaired.

Nature's Way Wonder Race

It was a pleasure to be a guest speaker at the Nature's Way Wonder Race that was held at Goat Island this year. The Wonder Race provides a series of family and child friendly activities conducted in the format of a fun race and the ticket proceeds were donated to The Starlight Foundation. It was a great event in a beautiful location!

CanRevive Volunteer Recognition Awards

It was an honour to host and present the awards of recognition for the long-service volunteers at CanRevive Inc. in the Council Chambers at Sydney Town Hall.

It is a wonderful achievement to have dedicated time and hard work to an organisation that makes a great contribution to our community.

It was inspiring to award some people with 15 and 20 years of service to the cause of supporting those who are struggling or have a family member suffering from cancer. Congratulations to all of the recipients!

Update: Fitzroy Gardens Toilets

After my continual lobbying of staff we finally have action on the ground. Temporary public toilets were installed in Fitzroy Gardens on the 23rd of October. Demolition of the old toilets has now commenced. Hopefully we can spend a penny in the new facilities by Christmas.

This result has been achieved due to the persistence of everyone in the community who have supported my campaign to replace the non-functioning toilets.

Bustle Studios

Thank you Laura for taking the time to show me around your Surry Hills Co-Working space, Bustle Studios Sydney.

It was interesting to learn that Bustle Studios is not just a creative co-working spot, it is also a space used for intimate live music events, Classes with Glasses and venue hire among other uses! The mix of vintage and retro style is a great touch and it is definitely worth checking out this quirky spot in Surry Hills.
