The Health and Housing Expo is On!

Shelter SA's annual Health and Housing Expo will be held at the Adelaide Town Hall on Monday 21 October from 10am to 2pm. We thank the City of Adelaide for funding this important event and providing such an iconic and historic venue - we look forward to creating a welcoming environment for all attendees.

The Expo is a great opportunity for community service providers to reach out to some of South Australia’s most marginalised and disadvantaged citizens. We encourage you to register early and reserve a stall at the event by completing the following registration form. Please note this event is not for the general public.

Tenants Have Their Say on Renting with Pets!

Earlier this year South Australia joined the National movement to #MakeRentingFair. Since South Australia is the only State without a tenant union, Shelter SA took responsibility for leading the charge to improve renters’ rights. One of our primary asks is that we increase the number of pet friendly rentals.

We started using our socials to encourage renters to share their experiences in the private rental market and renting with pets. We had high engagement from renters, especially regarding our position on saying no to pet bonds and advocating for more pet-friendly rentals, across our social media platforms using #MakeRentingFair. Read what South Australians are saying about renting with pets below!
