For there is born to you this day…– Luke 2:11a (NKJV)
A baby “born to you”! That was Jesus’ birth announcement! A baby that didn't just belong to Mary and Joseph -- but the Savior who belongs to all of us! There is no better news to proclaim this Christmas!
"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." -- Luke 2:11 (NKJV)
Proclaiming Jesus and the new birth He gives to those who receive Him into their life is the heart of SAFE's mission in Malawi. He is the gift available to everyone.
Come see some of God’s “birthing rooms” in Malawi where people are coming to know the Savior who was born for all. Thank you for helping make this possible!
Gogo Groups in Villages
Our gogo grandmother groups in villages bring the gogos together where they learn of the love of Christ through prayer, Bible study and social support. This is one of the follow-up Bible studies after many gogos received Jesus as their personal Savior after seeing the Jesus Film. In our 17 village gogo groups there are 2,257 gogos.
Students in Schools
When the Why Wait? curriculum is taught in a classroom, one of the first things students learn is that they are special, created in the image of God and loved by Him. They learn of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and the forgiveness and new birth He offers them. 34 new schools with trained Why Wait? teachers were added this year.
Students in Mailbox Clubs
These are the members of the after school Mailbox Club in the primary school next to the prison. There are 38 members (10 boys and 28 girls) who are growing in their relationship with Jesus and knowledge of the Bible as they study together. There are 14 schools with Mailbox Clubs and 563 participants. (The name came from when it was a correspondence course done by mail.)
Children in SAFE's CBCCs
Besides providing a meal and learning opportunities each school day for the 3-6 year-olds in our Community Based Childcare Centers, we have the joy of teaching the children about Jesus and His love for them. There are 2,209 preschoolers registered this year.
SAFE Haven
SAFE’s outreach to urban village children and youth (6-18 years) takes place from a 40’ shipping container named SAFE Haven in Zomba City’s public park. This year 1,044 children have been involved in activities -- Bible studies, scripture memory, sports, tutoring, crafts, music, drama, counseling and team building. Many of these kids have come to know Jesus as their Savior. In this picture some of the SAFE Haven youth are practicing for the Christmas program they will be putting on in the park.
“Thank you for helping our SAFE staff in Malawi take the message of new birth in Christ to all these “birthing rooms”!
Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas celebration!
Merry Christmas! “Khrisimasi yabwino!” (Chichewa)
