Dear GLC members and friends,
Our Annual Congregational Meeting for Georgetown Lutheran Church will be Sunday, November 6, 2022, following worship (about 11:00).
We will gather both in-person and on the worship zoom link.
Mark your calendars now and plan to attend! GLC members have voice and vote at the meeting, but all are welcome: if you care about our ministry together, don't miss this meeting!
Please click to review the 2022 annual report (includes meeting agenda), proposed bylaws revisions, and the 2023 budget proposal. Paper copies are available at GLC - pick one up Sunday if you'd like. Within that budget proposal you'll notice a new line-item for a pastoral sabbatical. Council has approved and wants to share with you this 2023 Pastoral Sabbatical Proposal, which will be discussed at the annual meeting.
Please read ahead and bring your questions and comments. The annual report is actually a good and hopeful read - check out all we've accomplished together! In a world where the news is often hard and chaotic, it's soothing to read this report with stories (and pictures!) of faithful work and our congregation's life this year.
At our annual meeting, we'll hear reports and discuss the future, consider and pass a budget, and also thank our council leaders, especially those completing terms. We'll elect our congregation treasurer, secretary, and council members to begin new terms - nominations still open (email pastor or Cassandra if you're interested) and even from the floor of the meeting. Curious? Read about our council leaders' responsibilities here.
Thanks to all who participated and shared their input in recent discussion groups hosted by our mission and strategic planning team. If you weren't able to attend, we'd really appreciate your input on the four core questions asked at each of these groups: click here to see the questions and share your answers!
