Dear GLC members and friends,

Happy sixth day of Christmas! Start your new year right in worship this Sunday at GLC at 8:30 and 10:00am. Before the grind of work creeps back in, before the weeks of the year march on, come and remember - that you are loved, forgiven, fed, and sent with purpose - and connected with others (us!) who care.

I pray these days of Christmas have held some moments of rest or blessing for you, and that the new year brings promise and hope - with the assurance God is with you in the new year, no matter what's ahead.

Year-End Offerings

You, our members and visitors have been generous in 2022, and we are tremendously grateful.
We hope you'll continue to support GLC and our efforts together.  Consider a year-end gift, or how you’d like to set up      your offerings for next year. The easiest way is by giving online at georgetownlutheran.com/donate using our secure giving platform, Vanco (or scan the QR code in a worship bulletin). Alternatively, if you want to send a check and your gift to be counted in 2022, please make sure that it is postmarked by 31 December 2022. If you're delivering it in person or via a private carrier like FedEx or UPS, it must arrive at the church by the 31st. Credit card and electronic gifts must be processed and cleared by 31 December, which can take a few days. Thank you!

Potluck brunch & Candle project - Jan. 8

On Epiphany Sunday, January 8, join in after worship for a potluck brunch and a long-awaited project! For years, we've been saving the ends of altar and paschal candles, with the idea of melting down and making new candles. So on this holiday about light and something new, we're doing it! Between now and then, we welcome you to bring empty, clean small glass containers that would make great candle holders - think - old glass yogurt containers, holders from spent candles, etc. Participants will get to go home with a candle you made and also help make ones to light our church for special days in the year ahead!

Bible Study - Thursday nights - try it and join us for the new year!
Each Thursday, 7:30-8:30pm on Zoom here, Pastor Brett and GLC friends gather for Bible study. We pick up where we are in reading a book of the Bible together, and simply read and discuss - no experience necessary, and join in whenever you can! It's a good place to learn, explore your own faith, and get to know other church members. We chat together, and then close each week sharing our joys/concerns. There's room for you - join us next Thursday or anytime in the future!
