"Faith groups release video to rally liberal religious voters as Election Day looms" via Religion News Service

"Two liberal-leaning religious groups are unveiling a short film aimed at mobilizing fellow faith-fueled voters, adding to a flurry of religion-themed advertisements critical of President Donald Trump and his administration that have been released in the final weeks before the election.

The film, titled 'Faith Vote 2020: Answering the Urgent Call of Justice,' is being produced by two groups: The Resistance Prays and Faith in Public Life Action.

Organizers say the final video will be 15-20 minutes long and feature interviews with a slate of politicians and faith leaders, such as the Rev. Tawnya Denise Anderson, former co-moderator of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); Charles Booker, a Kentucky state representative who gained national media attention for his ultimately unsuccessful U.S. Senate campaign earlier this year; Sheila Katz, CEO of the National Council of Jewish Women; and Linda Sarsour, a Muslim civil rights advocate who also co-chaired the original Women’s March."
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1
I'm so excited to announce "Faith Vote 2020: Answering the Urgent Call of Justice," our new film that is co-produced with Faith in Public Life Action. The film features exciting faith leaders who care about social justice. There is a lot of talk in our political discourse about "faith voters," but the real test of whether someone is a faith voter is whether they are voting for the vulnerable, the oppressed, and the poor. Our film explores the various moral issues at stake in this election, including racial justice, confronting the coronavirus pandemic, expanding health care, economic justice, climate justice, LGBTQ rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant rights, and ending our endless wars.

Please watch and share the trailer on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
Host a watch party for the film!
God of Justice and Peace, we ask your blessing on our film and pray that it might lead voters to cast their ballots in defense of human dignity and the common good. Guide all of our actions in these final days before the election to reflect your will for humanity to embrace social justice. Amen.
