Today's Top Story
The Trump administration pushed back on Tuesday against rising condemnation of Saudi Arabia and showed support for its crown prince, who has been linked to the disappearance and possible murder of a leading dissident journalist inside a Saudi consulate in Turkey. - per the New York Times.

President Trump said in an interview with the Associated Press: “Here we go again with you’re guilty until proven innocent.”

Asked if the Saudis told him whether Mr. Khashoggi was alive, Mr. Pompeo declined to answer. “I don’t want to talk about any of the facts,” he said. “They didn’t want to either, in that they want to have the opportunity to complete this investigation in a thorough way.”
Scripture
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. - Galatians 6:7-8

If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. - James 1:26
"I Don't Want to Talk About Any of the Facts"
Is there any better quotation to summarize President Trump’s administration?

Trump dismissed the importance of facts when he mocked Christine Blasey-Ford, taking Brett Kavanagh’s word over hers and claiming Kavanagh was treated as "guilty until proven innocent." Now he and his staff once again roll their eyes at facts, complaining ‘no fair.' Trump is rolling his eyes at murder and claiming that we don’t know the truth, even though the Turkish government has confirmed that this murder took place, with evidence pointing toward the Saudi Arabian government.

Once again, money, greed, and politics take precedent over people, in a matter that's literally life and death. The Trump administration is reluctant to tell or even hear the truth in hopes of staying in the good graces of the wealthy Saudi government. After Mr. Trump voiced his opinion that this is a witch hunt against the Prince, the Saudi government transferred $100 million to the U.S.

Do not be deceived, friends. Keep watching as we sow in the Spirit.
Act
Read and listen to things you never thought you’d read or listen to before. Arm yourself with facts. I never thought I’d be reading about the background of Saudi politics or history, but I am.

And as you arm yourself with facts, be sure not to be deceived by false words from the right or the left. It’s new, but based solely on the first two episodes I recommend a podcast called The Argument. Three journalists - one conservative, one moderate, and one liberal - join forces to focus on facts, not smut or dispensationalism.

Do your homework. Then have conversations that improve the truth but don't slant it.
Pray
Spirit of Truth, find in us the need to hear, the courage to pause and reflect, and the resolve to inhabit your world with the shoots of justice. Let us be a vine that grows, finding strength in each connection we make. We often tell the lie that we do not belong to each other but instead belong to our power, money, and wealth. No, show us how and to whom we belong with daily reminders that we are your reflection, tasked with the mission of love. Let it be so.
