A much shorter update this time, with one important development:
1
THE MASTERPLAN
Our delivery plan was published on 9th September. You can read it here.
Alongside the plan, the government announced that £22M will be shared among all the 12 Opportunity Area to support Essential Life Skills. For us this means an additional £800k over the lifetime of the programme. This funding will help children and young people develop skills such a resilience, wellbeing and employability through activities like sports, cultural activities and social action. More to come.
Thank you to everyone who has given their time and energy to sharing opinions at events, hosting visits to their school or organisation, and telling us how we can do things better. This plan would not have been possible without this; we hope that the plan reflects your views on what needs to be done.
The delivery plan states what we will do and how it will make a difference - over the next 12 months and by 2020/21. This covers the four main priorities (flashing by in the image above, fingers crossed) as well as four critical enabling themes.
Here they are again:

So what next?
Now we will start delivery - of this plan and of our objectives. Wherever possible we will join existing forum, networks, partnerships and alliances to collaborate and connect with what else is happening. We will also develop smaller communities of those with expertise, passion and time to put into the delivery of our objectives.
Is this you? Let us know here, or through the contact details below - your help will keep us on the right track to supporting more opportunities for children and young people.
We will continue to use this newsletter to update you on what we are doing and when.
