Current Series and Message from our Pastor

Have you struggled this past year to make sense of the world and keep a heavenly perspective in the midst of turmoil? As we enter the Fall, we will spend time Sunday mornings looking at 1 Peter - a book written to struggling and suffering Christians living in turmoil.
In this book, believers are encouraged to look to Jesus as the ultimate example of triumph in the midst of suffering. We experience peace and hope in our confidence that we are citizens, not of this broken world, but of heaven.
I am looking forward to how God will use this book to deepen our faith, and help us to stand firm in the midst of earthly turmoil. - Pastor Brian

We are passionate about providing opportunities for every person to learn about Jesus, especially our kids! In addition to our 3yrs-2nd grade class and nursery, we have added a 3rd-6th grade class. Midway through the worship service, all children (nursery through 6th grade) are dismissed to a class where they will learn age appropriate truths from the Bible about the God who loves them!

'God At Work' Testimonies
Discipleship Explored
What happens when our best laid plans, our best efforts, don’t turn out the way we’d like or don’t have good results? Even more importantly, what happens if they, as we had hoped, do go our way? In the secular world, the former makes us feel like failures, the latter, like winners filled with pride able to bask in the glow of our success. This can also be true for us as Christians as well when we base our “success” on how we and others judge us.
However, while unpacking Paul’s letter to the Philippians during our recent Bible study, Discipleship Explored, it became clear to me how wrong the secular model, or even more importantly, the “religious” one can be. In fact, Paul calls this type of personal striving “garbage” and useless, a “loss”. His solution for himself, for me and for all of us, is to find our success, really our joy, through living in Christ. Paul’s “loss” brought into focus the value of confidence not in ourselves but Jesus. Paul’s letter demonstrated for me the priceless nature of Christ’s love and sacrifice. I can put it like this: Faith in our good background, great accomplishments, good deeds and self- earned righteousness, worth zero. Faith in the righteousness and deeds of Christ, priceless. - Scott Cooper

I believe that God led me to be a part of the Discipleship Explored Bible study. What I enjoyed most about the study is the breakdown of scripture that helped me understand the specific message being taught. I was able to use this information and apply it to my personal life, and once I did, I started seeing how God created opportunities and situations in my life. For example, learning about the act of being obedient to Christ led me to my decision to live out that idea by being baptized. Overall, the study strengthened my relationship with God and other members of my church community. I have made it a priority to continue my walk with God and let Him lead the way. - Jay Martin

Small Groups beginning this month!
Small Groups are starting this month and it's not too late to sign up! These groups are one of the best ways for us to learn from each other as we apply the gospel to our daily lives. They allow us to move past basic Bible knowledge to life application so that we can be transformed more and more into the image of Christ. Small groups are for every adult, at any stage of their Christian journey. We want to study God's word, wrestle with questions, pray together, and exhort each other to become more like Jesus.
Groups will meet every other week and will work through an excellent study called the “Gospel Centered Life.” We have three options - Sunday after church, Monday evening, and Thursday evening.
If you would like to be part of one of these small groups, click the button below to sign up!

We had a wonderful baptism service on August 26th. Nine individuals chose to take a step of faith and be obedient to Christ. Click the button below to see a video of the event and the testimonies of those baptized.

Baleville Directory Update
Over the past few months, we have been collecting and updating our contact information for those that attend Baleville. Our goal is to create a directory that is updated yearly and helps our church body to stay in better contact with one another. Please take a few moments on Sunday morning to go to the big easel to verify your contact information. Feel free to email the office if you are unable to verify your contact information at the church. We will be printing the directory at the end of September.
