The main aim of this course is addressing training for medical professionals in the area of paediatric transplantation (PT) with a cross-cutting approach that allows a multidisciplinary view of most relevant topics in the phases of transplant and the practical knowledge to better clinical practices. This course provides skills to perform a common and transversal approach to all types of PT procedure. The latest information on the donor graft optimisation and engineering, new tools of patient allograft tolerance, and families, patient and healthcare team psychosocial care will enable participants to review and update in paediatric transplantation.

On February 13, 14 and 15, 2019, the IX edition of the International Congress of Orphan Drugs and Rare Diseases, the most qualified experts, industry representatives, administration and patient associations took place in Seville, Spain. They have met to discuss the challenges we have to overcome in dealing with rare diseases. TransplantChild had the intervention of Dr. Jara in relation to the European Reference Networks and their role in the European framework context of current policies for rare diseases and highly complex procedures.

This year Rare Disease Day was celebrated by patient groups, policy-makers, healthcare professionals and industry representatives in a record 101 countries. The theme this year was “Bridging health and social care” which focused on bridging the gaps in the coordination between medical, social and support services in order to tackle the challenges that people living with a rare disease and their families around the world face every day. The mosaic was supported by the EJP RD members and had the participation of the TransplantChild team.
