Dearest Friends of Albertine,
In Vino Vegetable!

This week Albertine is swapping our signature Burgundy for Glorious Green in support of National Vegetarian Week. We are running a special mezze plate laden with goodies like English asparagus & Béarnaise, pickled aubergine with tahini and crispy capers, baked crottin with wine-braised lentils & beetroot dressing… and of course our halloumi fries.

We’ve also snapped up the first of the courgette flowers, and Allegra’s been stuffing them with ricotta, confit garlic, mint and lemon, then delicately deep-frying them in a thin, crispy batter and finishing with a generous drizzle of chilli honey – ambrosia of the Gods!
And the nectar to that ambrosia is Albertine’s selection of veggie and vegan wines, from Bandol to Veltliner (not quite an A-Z, but nevertheless a fine array). 


Huzzah for Loire!
Wine Tasting - 13th June, 7pm

Building on the growing cult of Rob’s tutored wine tastings, for our next soirée it’s deck shoes all round as we take you on a journey down the Loire.

As ever Rob’s discerning choice of five wines that best show off the region will be washed down by Allegra & Helen's characterful canapés and the evening will be rounded off with local cheeses (local to Loire, not SheBu, bien sûr!)

To top it all off, we're throwing in a 10% discount on the takeaway price of any of the bottles tasted on the night. And if you want to book a table in our restaurant following the tasting, there's also another 20% off your food bill.

Clucking Good!

And finally if ever there was an unmissable date for your diary, it’s Tuesday 29th May: International Coq au Vin Day! 

Never has a dish been more at home than Co’V at Albertine, but seeing as it’s Spring-ish out there, we’ve been working on a seasonal twist on the classic and will be doing the essential 48hr marinade in white wine, not a wintery red, and making a lighter, brighter version with Jamon and Spring greens.

We’ll be running this dish for the rest of the week - and to add to the fun, there's a #CluckingGood wine bottle-shaped prize for the person whose Tweeted or Instagrammed Coq pic gets the most likes! Just make sure to use hashtags #coqauvinday and #albertinewinebar (or tag us directly @albertineldn) to make sure we spot your entry!
