Dearest Friends of Albertine,
Think Pink! Join us for Rosé Tasting this Wednesday!

Well, the weather has certainly come out in full support of our latest Rob-tutored tasting, happening this Wednesday 25th April at 7pm. Back when it was snowing (about a month ago!) we dreamed of sunshine and sipping on fine Rosés that pair so well with it and now, just a few weeks later, here we are!

Word seems to be spreading about how fun, informative and full of good things these Albertine tastings really are: for a mere £25 you get to taste five fabulous and contrasting wines from Europe including a breath-taking sparkling Crémant du Bourgogne Brut Rosé. As Rob gives an engaging and informative lesson whilst you quaff, nibble on canapés by Allegra & Helen then round it all off with boards of fine befitting cheeses.

And just when it couldn't get any better, we chuck in a 10% discount on all take away bottles. What a corker!

There literally are just a handful of tickets left, so book your place by calling the bar on 020 8743 9593 or emailing

Say salut to the Sauvignon!

Following on from World Malbec Day last Tuesday, where, for one night only, Albertine became more Buenos Aires than Bush with Malbecs from three countries and a Picanha for 2 special …. anyway, following on from all that, the next Name That Grape Day is Friday 4th May where we go right to the other end of the spectrum as it’s ... International Sauvignon Blanc Day!!

Time to give this classic, versatile, multi-faceted and yet oft maligned stalwart of a grape its day in the sunshine! Rob has picked four belting SBs from our list that are normally by the bottle only, but which we will be pouring by the glass - with Sauvignon wine flights for the superfans - on sunny Sauvignon Day.

New Spring/Summer Wine List

And lastly, we are super-excited about our new Spring/Summer wine list – launching next week and as you might expect there are a couple of weather-pairing Rosés on there.

Firstly we have introduced a seasonal House Rosé, Llumí Rosat from the lovely people of Celler Alimara in Catalunya. Made with 100% Grenache and, whilst deeper in colour than those Rosés north of the Alps, it’s beautifully balanced and - we think - the best way to start every evening from now until October!

The other Rosé highlight is a fabulous fizzy: this is what Victoria Moore of The Telegraph says about Champagne Dumangin:

"It is sometimes hard to tell, without the cue of seeing the colour, whether a champagne is white or pink. This exquisite pale rosé fizz does actually smell as pink as it looks and, for my money, is a lot better than the white version."

Spring is in the air,
the trees are laden with blossom,
it’s all about the pink!
It’s time to drink differently,
unshackle ourselves from those big dark reds
and dive into the attractive and seductive world
of Rosé!

Allegra, Rob & Paul
