On a more serious note, we are working hard to usher in a new year of improving student achievement with urgency, increasing district transparency to build trust and engage stakeholders, and providing support to the teachers, principals, and staff who make it all possible every day in our schools. I know that radical change is possible—and necessary to make progress for all students throughout LA Unified.

Great public schools ensure students achieve their fullest potential, not only by providing great classroom teachers and principals, but also by engaging parents, families, and community partners to collectively move the school forward. I’m looking forward to another year of spending time in schools, meeting with stakeholders, and putting kids first.
