Foundation Focus
March 2019

Farrington Grove Elementary loves to engage with families outside of the school day, during Bingo for Books! Fun for the whole family, "sight words" are used to make a "BINGO," and each student usually leaves with at least two books for their home library.  Many Vigo County elementary schools have received Bingo for Books grants, which provide all the wonderful books, and the events are always enthusiastically well-attended!

This student is prototyping a breadboard to design electronic trainers and workbooks for the three high school automotive departments. A breadboard is a construction base for prototyping electronics. See this grant "in action," and much more, at Business & Bagels on Friday, March 15th.

Mission Statement: Through community support, the Vigo County Education Foundation provides programs and projects that enhance and enrich public education.
YOU make extraordinary educational opportunities possible!
As Mrs. Crawn says,  "Life is a Balancing Act." She enriched her Lost Creek Elementary Physical Education curriculum by purchasing adaptive P.E. equipment, including these soft, engaging balance beams, as well as racer scooters which have handles. These give all students a sense of freedom, as well as a HUGE feeling of accomplishment! She was also able to purchase a safe, handled trampoline for students who have extra energy or need that sense of motion one gets when bouncing! Mini grants enrich all curriculum content areas!
