We are deeply grateful for all who have already answered the call this year to provide support for our mission.
Our students and teachers are facing new challenges every day due to the obstacles created by the health crisis. The Vigo County Education Foundation (VCEF) has responded by providing over $145,000 to our schools since May 2020. These resources have been used to:
- Purchase over 200 Chromebook computers for second graders at schools with the highest student poverty rates.
- Fund 15 Wi-Fi school bus hot spots providing access to online education in rural areas and for those in need.
- Provide extra food for grab and go meals during the summer food distribution by the school corporation.
- Provide over $54,000 for 90 classroom mini grants empowering teachers to creatively enrich their curriculum in innovative ways that would not be possible otherwise.
With your help we can and will do more. The Foundation is able to provide these critical resources because individuals, businesses and foundations have confidence that the VCEF will maximize their donations to meet the most urgent needs of our schools and their students. Thank you!
Even during a school year that is unlike any we have experienced, your gift directly impacts the student experience. Frontline educators recognize the difference your gift makes:
“Your support of Read Live is so important because the lab improves below average students’ skills in reading, writing vocabulary and comprehension.” - Woodrow Wilson Middle School, assistant principal
“My students will experience the excitement of the scientific process from brainstorming, to design and testing of prototypes, thanks to the foundation’s funding!” - Farrington Grove Elementary, fourth grade teacher
“We are so grateful for our grant and can’t wait to use our new outdoor learning lab.” - Meadows Elementary, third grade teacher
