33rd Annual "Fore!" the Kids Golf Scramble
When you tee up as a sponsor or play golf "Fore" the Kids, you hit a hole in one for education! Please join our efforts to bring exceptional educational opportunities to Vigo County students which would not be possible otherwise. The Education Foundation uses the funds from it's "Fore" the Kids Golf Scramble to fund creative, engaging classroom projects throughout the Vigo County School Corporation. Thank you to CliftonLarsonAllen and Lee Company Inc. for already to committing to Ace sponsorships! Chip in today!

All 1,278 VCSC kindergarten students are the "star" of their very own story, in My Kindergarten Fun Book, which helps build strong literacy skills in our youngest learners. A colorful, educational, interactive, personalized book for every kindergartner in the Vigo County School Corporation is made possible by the "stars" in our story: B & S Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Duke Energy Foundation, Terre Haute Savings Bank and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. The sheer joy as each child finds his or her name, school, and teacher throughout the book is a sight to behold! Betty Lanke, who lovingly created this special program over 25 years ago is still an integral part of the program and acted as "emcee" during the kick-off at Hoosier Prairie Elementary.
Otter Creek Middle School students are using these new microscopes, provided by a school wide grant, to target specific critical thinking and problem-solving skills through prediction, observation, and analysis.
Mr. Hammers, Terre Haute North Career and Technology Education (CTE) Department Chair and Electronics teacher, demonstrates how these twenty-four student-made electronic trainers are being beta tested before being sent to the three high school automotive departments. Students participating in this Foundation-funded project will also receive dual credit through Ivy Tech Community College.  Mr. Hammers is also  using his grant funds for materials enabling students to build programmable 8 bit computers.
Thirty-four educators were recognized May 9th with the Excellence in Education Award during Teacher Appreciation Week.  Congratulations, and thank you to all Vigo County teachers who make magic happen in their classrooms every day!  Teachers Shown Appreciation
