Swimming  for Team 1 - Rooms 1, 2, 3 & 4

The above classes began their swimming lessons on Monday 15th March.  There will be 10 lessons in this swimming programme - with the last lesson taking place on Friday 26th March.

Please can all parents/caregivers ensure that all school uniform items, togs and towels are clearly named.  This will enable a speedy resolution for children and staff alike when items are misplaced.

The children are enjoying the lessons and it's great to see everyone taking part!
We are excited to share the news that Freyberg Community School will be welcoming the NZ ice skate tour to our school hall! This will be taking place on the night of Monday the 6th of September and there are limited spaces - so get in quick. The school receives 20% of takings after the event so it is a great fundraiser for us! All students will receive an ice skating lesson during school time so it's a great opportunity for them to show off their new skills.

And the exciting news is .......
Part 1 of the new Middle School Playground is now completed!

Over the past couple of weeks students have enjoyed watching with great anticipation the removal of the old existing playground/ ground works by BECS Drainage and of course the installation of the playground by Playground People Limited.  All classes are currently in the process of having an induction  to encourage safe and correct usage of all that this incredible playground has to offer.  We are progressing through the classrooms and hoping to have the playground open to all by early next week.

The excitement continues with Part 2 The Eagles Lair due to be installed in late April/early May :-)

If you are visiting the school site please feel free to check it out!

Good news travels fast and it is always nice to share happy news!

Sharaya Kumar in Room 16 has shared a reply  to a letter she recently wrote to our  Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

It certainly sounds like she loved receiving your letter and enjoyed your fabulous pictures.  Well done Sharaya!

Congratulations to Ezra Falani in Room 14 who recently represented Freyberg Community School at the NZ Schools Siva Afi (Fire Dancing) competition.

Ezra has only been learning fire dancing since August last year and the hard work has obviously paid off with him placing 3rd in the junior competition.  An impressive result with fellow competitors ages ranging up to 11 years old.  What a fabulous result!  We are very proud of you, Ezra!

We also have quite a collection of toys and precious belongings being brought to school. Students are encouraged not to bring precious treasures as the distress caused with them being lost/misplaced is a problem which could be prevented if these toys in particular were kept at home.  If you think any of the above items belong to your child please give the office a call and we will gladly return them.
