Chronicle 024
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Freyberg Whānau,

We are happy to present our achievement tables for 2020 below. For internal assessment, Freyberg Community School chooses to collect data based on the National Standards rather than the curriculum levels that parents see in their children's reports. This is because we feel that it gives us more specific information around where within a curriculum level a child sits in terms of their academic achievement.

Looking at achievement overall, it is very encouraging to see 87.5% achieving at or above the National Standard for Reading, 85.2% achieving at or above the National Standard for Writing, and 86.8% achieving at or above the National Standard for Maths. Our 2019 results have remained stable through to the end of 2020 despite COVID-19 disruptions and lockdowns.

When the National Standards were first introduced in 2015 we were achieving in the early 70's. It demonstrates that goals, focus and aspirations all have a big part in raising achievement.

On behalf of all of the staff at Freyberg, I would like to congratulate our fabulous students for the way they have continued to work hard to achieve their goals despite a difficult year and have gone about it in such a resilient and cheerful way. Thank you also to our fabulous community for your support - we could not have achieved these results without you!

Noho ora mai - stay safe,

Maria Dopheide

Room 3 Chronicle Contribution

Last week Team 1 had an opportunity to visit
the Stardome Observatory.
Room 3 loved going on the bus to the Stardome!  We enjoyed learning about Day and Night and the Solar System with Josh (who was a former Freyberg student back in 2000). The playground was fantastic too. Thanks to all our lovely parent/nanny and poppa helpers  who,  without your support, would not have made this trip "a happening thing".  Thank you again!
Missing  A black school bucket hat clearly named Marshall France in Rm 5.

If your child has taken this home in error kindly return it to the school office where it will be returned to the rightful owner.

Please ensure that all uniform items are named for ease of return should they become misplaced around our school grounds.
Children's Artwork Calendars - Online Ordering Only

This is one of our last fundraising ventures for the year.  Children have been busy creating wonderful art suitable to be made into calendars, diaries, greeting cards etc.

Personalised order forms  were sent home with all students approx 2 weeks ago. To view your child's picture and order products go to and type in your child's personalised code which is found at the bottom of your child's order form.

Thank you in advance for your support!
