We hope you had/have a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends!
Wow - what an awesome night for all the right reasons!

Thank you to all of those families that supported our latest disco last Friday night and of course to the children and parents that attended.

Our resident Freyberg DJ - Mr Reyland (aka our fabulous Room 22 class teacher) was on form and we look forward to the next Freyberg disco to see if he can better his already outstanding performance. The children were well behaved and those behind the scenes reported a great night!

Total monies raised were $1650.00 and again we thank those who were busy organising behind the scenes to make this happen for our students!

Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Many thanks to the wonderful parents/caregivers who have offered to assist as Book Fairies for Term 2.

With  8+ offers of assistance, we have made the decision to limit the numbers to just 5 helpers to assist with putting away our home readers and journals. Helpers will be allocated weeks twice termly.
Letters have been sent home yesterday to all those concerned outlining what week you have been allocated.  Please give the office a quick call if a change of plans means you are unable to help on your allocated week.  We are super flexible and appreciate any time you are able to offer.
We are excited to share the news that Freyberg Community School will be welcoming the NZ ice skate tour to our school hall! This will be taking place on the night of Monday the 6th of September and there are limited spaces - so get in quick. The school receives 20% of takings after the event so it is a great fundraiser for us! All students will receive an ice skating lesson during school time so it's a great opportunity for them to show off their new skills.

And the exciting news is .......

Part 1of the new middle playground
is now completed!

Over the past couple of weeks students have enjoyed their induction time on the new middle playground.

For the remainder of the term junior, middle and senior teams will be timetabled to play on the playground over morning tea and lunchtime as students become more familiar with all aspects of this fabulous new school addition.

The excitement continues with Part 2 - The Eagles Lair - due to be installed in late April/early May :-)

If you are visiting the school site please feel free to check it out!

These items have been misplaced during the Team 1 swimming programme which commenced Monday 15th March.  If your child has brought any of the above uniform items home in error kindly drop them into the school office where they can be returned to the rightful owner.
Again we have quite a collection of drink bottles / toys and precious belongings being brought to school. Students are encouraged not to bring precious treasures as the distress caused with them being lost/misplaced is a problem which could be prevented if these toys in particular were kept at home.  If you think any of the above items belong to your child please give the office a call and we will gladly return them.
            Save the Date
We are hoping to hold our Freyberg Annual Athletics Day on Thursday the 15th of April, COVID and weather depending.  This is a schoolwide event for all students.  We encourage everyone to dress up in their house colours  on this day.  Face paint, pompoms, hats, socks, wigs etc are a fun way to show their house loyalty!
If you are unsure of your child's house please contact the class teacher or call/email the office staff who will be able to assist.

We'd love to see as many whānau members there as possible, so lock it in your calendar and keep the date free!
A tasty selection of Auckland’s best street food, music and entertainment. Lot’s of free activities to keep the kids busy, ReCreators craft workshop, pop up games, face painting and other activities.  Stay a while and enjoy the fun community vibes.
April 2nd. 4:30pm-8:30pm. Te Atatu South Community Centre, 247 Edmonton Road.
