Kia Ora Freyberg Whānau,

A warm welcome to our brand new five year olds who have joined us this week - Quinn, Kobe, Jordan, and Ryan! We hope you are settling in, enjoying your new classrooms and making lots of new friends.

We've made it to week 7 and there is *almost* a hint of autumn in the air. We are happy to be seeing an increase in attendance numbers again after a lull during the Omicron peak. If you are unsure about sending your children back to school - please remember that we are seeing no evidence to suggest any transmission is occurring at Freyberg between tamariki or staff. It is so important for your children to have routine and consistency - which means coming to school as usual and enjoying lots of social interaction with peers.

And since tomorrow is St Patrick's Day, an Irish proverb to finish: "May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door!"

Noho ora mai - stay safe,

Maria Dopheide
Principal

Tomorrow is St Patricks Day at Freyberg - if you can, help us celebrate by wearing something green with your uniform - green socks, a green headband, green gloves, a green scarf!

School Hats Missing

Please can you check that your child's school hat is clearly named.

Office staff are more than happy
to assist with  re naming hats
that are no longer clear to read.

We have many students stating that hats have been misplaced during the day.

If your child has taken someone else's hat home in error please get them to pop it into the school office where it will be returned to the rightful owner.
Freyberg School Uniform

The school expects students to take pride in their uniform and wear it correctly at all times.  If students are not in the correct uniform they are required to have a note from home explaining the reason and this must be handed to the school office prior to the start of school on the day concerned.  T-shirts, singlets and other underwear worn for extra warmth must not be visible.

Please ensure that all uniform items are clearly named.
It certainly makes the return of misplaced items much easier and less stressful on children and staff alike.  Please note that it is compulsary for all students to be wearing the school uniform.

School shoes / sandals / jandals are to be black only.
