Welcome to Term 4 at Freyberg

I would like to extend a special welcome to the many families who have joined our Freyberg Community this term for the first time.  If at any time you have a query or are unsure of something that is happening at school please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher, our senior management staff Maria Dopheide, Emma-Lea Graaf, Matt Allely, our office staff, or myself.  I am available at any time to answer any concerns.  It is important that you and your family are happy at school.

Kind regards
Christine Wilson

Friendly Reminder - School Donations

All families with school contributions outstanding were sent reminder letters in early September.  To those families who have sent money in already - we thank you.  The Board of Trustees have been able to keep the school contributions at the same amount for the past 20 years. This has been important to the Board as we want to maintain the high quality of programmes being offered at school without passing any additional cost onto parents/caregivers.  Should you have any questions about these letters please contact Juliette or Sharon in the school office.

An Important Message

for 2020

Applications for both in zone and out of zone students close today - the 16th of October. If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If the ballot is required it will be held on Tuesday 22nd October. Parents will be informed of the ballot results within 3 school days of the ballot being held.

It is important for all Freyberg families that if you have a sibling of a child who currently attends our school, due to start in 2020, all enrolment paperwork is handed into the school office today.

Is your child leaving Freyberg?
Are you moving out of the area?

Please let us know!  If you are moving or your child will be enrolling at a new primary school in the New Year, please notify the office staff.  We are currently in the very early process of finalising classes for next year and this will enable us to have accurate numbers for classes in 2020.

Organisation for 2020

Due to the significant roll growth we are unable to accommodate parent requests for teachers/specific classes for 2020.  However, if you have information regarding your child's learning that may be valuable in placement we would encourage you to contact our senior management staff - Ms Maria Dopheide if your child is a Year 0 - 2, Ms Emma-lea Graaf if your child is a Year 3 - 4, or Mr Matt Allely if your child is a Year 5 - 6 student next year.

Our senior management staff will try to assist as best as they can.

We are lucky to have TWO of these shows and workshops

coming to Freyberg on Wednesday the 30th of October.

The cost to attend this show is $3 per student.

Please send payments directly to the school office.

No Sunhat - Play in the Shade
From this week onwards any child not having a sunhat will be directed to a designated spot for non-hat wearers.

Please support our Freyberg school policy and keep your child healthy by making sure that your child has a Freyberg compulsory sunhat that can be left at school to be used for outdoor activities.  Please ensure that this hat is clearly named for ease of return should it be misplaced during school time.

If you would like assistance with naming the hat please see the office staff who will be happy to accomodate this request with our super amazing white markers!!!

Our Sunsmart approved school hats are now available for purchase at $18 each from the school office.
