Getting from Point A to B!

In 2019, Vintage House's myRide program provided over 5,000 free rides to Sonoma Valley seniors.  What is the portrait of a rider?  Well, it could be a friend of yours who has had hip or shoulder surgery and can't drive for a while.  Or, it could be your 80-year-old dad who can no longer safely drive but is still able to get in and out of a car without assistance.

It is a great program but older adults need a variety of options that will help them stay connected to their community.  We at Vintage House are all too familiar with the various "cracks" that older adults fall into when it comes to finding safe, convenient, and accessible transportation options.

Do you have ideas?  Opinions?  Come down to Vintage House on Friday, February 21, to join a group discussion to share your experiences and help identify transportation barriers, successes, and ideas for improving the transportation system in Sonoma County.  The Sonoma County Area Agency hosts the discussion on Aging, and resident input will contribute to the Sonoma County Connected Communities Transportation Study. To register for this event, send an email to aaa@schsd.org or call 707-565-5903.

This presentation will be the first of many that address transportation options, and not all of them involve complicated transportation networks.  Keep reading our Friday eblast to stay on top of the latest on the topic!

Vintage House to Present
Legendary Jazz Vocalist

Paula West

Vintage House, in collaboration with the Sonoma Jazz Society, is excited to announce the third of four Jazz at the House concerts, featuring renowned jazz vocalist, Paula West. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 1st.  Doors open at 3:00 pm, concert begins at 4:00 pm. Wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Paula West is an American jazz and cabaret singer known for her rich, powerful contralto voice and for her sensitive interpretations of an extraordinarily eclectic selection of songs ranging far beyond jazz standards and cabaret chestnuts. She offers multiple pleasures—the musicianship and sophistication of jazz combined with the emphasis on text, the droll humor, and the story songs that appeal to the cabaret audience.

“Paula West is the finest jazz-cabaret singer around. All of her albums deserve pride of place in any discerning listener's library."  JAZZTIMES
