Last Friday’s eblast talked about Supper’s On!. Mara Caitlin of Aunt Momo’s was scheduled to bring a little late-night San Francisco diner to Vintage House. Well, it happened, the food was amazing, and 40 people came to dine and engage in lively conversation. Some folks even brought in bottles of wine to enjoy with friends. All the while, the Zumba class was in session (I might add that it was full), and salsa music wafted down the hall and entertained us all.  It was a fabulous Wednesday Night Out! Next Wednesday, our excellent board member and Soup’s On! decorator Marcie Waldron will decorate Supper’s On!
You learn a lot when you take the time to listen and learn. It was interesting to hear that many folks have hesitated to come to Soup’s On! or Supper’s On! as they don’t want to “take a meal away from someone hungry.” Well, to be clear, these two Vintage House dining opportunities are about building community.  We hope you will enjoy a healthy and delicious meal in a place that many people call home away from home. You can roll into dinner from a class or dine and then dance.
Yes, you heard that right. We have jitterbugging coming to Vintage House. What else is happening in 2020? Check out the activity calendar online or call our friendly Front Desk Coordinator Peter Heredia to learn more. (707)996-0311.

Vintage House will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, 2020.

We will resume business hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Beginning Jitterbug Swing

Dance  Lessons

Vintage House is excited to announce our first Jitterbug Swing Dance Lessons!

Born in the Roaring Twenties, swing is a blanket term for fun, energetic dances meant to be performed to jazz music. The most well-known swing dances include the Lindy Hop, the Jitterbug, the Charleston, the West Coast Swing, and the Boogie Woogie.

Today swing is considered an American Rhythm dance. The East Coast Swing and Jive are the standard Ballroom Swing competition dances. The less formal "jazz swing dance" style evolved in dance halls and includes the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag and Charleston.

Swing can be learned as a partner or single dance. Many contemporary jazz dance routines feature groups of dancers tapping, swinging and bouncing in sync. Whether you are interested in learning basic moves, having fun, or becoming a master, join us for this fun class!
