Mid-August 2021 Bulletin

Annual Members' Exhibition
Looking Out/Looking In: A Philadelphia Center for the Book Virtual Members' Exhibition
Deadline to submit: August 31, 2021

Looking Out/Looking In is the topic of this year’s Philadelphia Center for the Book Members’ Exhibition, an exhibition in partnership with Swarthmore College Libraries.

We as artists frequently find that our subject matter or art making process begins either in introspection or in our interest in/passion about the world outside us. Members are invited to submit up to three works that in some way reflect either mindset.

Work is not limited to books and book objects. Any work by members that reflects the topic of the exhibition is welcome.

This year’s exhibition will be hybrid. All accepted works will be featured on our online exhibition. The artist books, book objects, and possibly a few other pieces will also be installed at Swarthmore’s McCabe Library. The Philadelphia Center for the Book reserves the right to limit work that does not fit our physical exhibition space to the online exhibition only. Submit your work online through our Google Form by August 31st.
  • Participating artists must be a current member of the Philadelphia Center for the Book. Join or renew online.
  • Work is not limited to books and book objects.
  • Images or videos of work will be accepted on our digital platform.

Due to the enthusiastic response, we will have a maximum of 7 presenters, but welcome those who wish to join us to provide feedback to the artists and give a brief update on their own projects.
