This truly unprecedented time has called upon individuals and organizations across Idaho to step up. Throughout the spring, I worked alongside the incredible United Way organization as we have tackled the unbelievable crisis that we are all enduring. As a true community leader, United Way has a history of uniting and serving communities and now they are stepping up once again to help low-income students across the Treasure Valley get a free meal.
From August 3rd to the 14th, United Way is partnering with local public schools in the Boise area to distribute food to low-income individuals across the Treasure Valley. We cannot do this without your help! United Way has been an incredible partner in making this possible, but we need volunteers.
Join me in volunteering to distribute lunches!
Choose a date below and a school that works for you and bring your friends, family, or coworkers out and lend a hand to the community.
How to help: Shifts will last from 10:15 to 1:30 and will start at the Fort Boise Community Center (700 Robbins Rd, Boise, ID 83702). Volunteers will be provided with safety equipment and necessary supplies including signs, tables, and lunches. A larger car or SUV will be needed to transport materials to the appropriate school where volunteers will set up the food distribution area and help hand out lunches to those in need. After distributing lunches, volunteers will return to the community center to drop off the remaining supplies.
To sign up, choose the date and location that will work best for you and email Robynn Browne at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your volunteer shift.
