  • share the journey of learning and living the Nurtured Heart Approach®.
Happy New Year! In this issue I share a few visualization strategies and their benefits. My hope is to help you see with clarity (20/20) in 2020. My newsletter nuggets and resources are intended to be useful to any NHA practitioner. This is NOT a substitute for NHA training. Subscribe now!
2020 Vision

Visualization is the process of creating a mental image of what you want to manifest. It is a powerful tool for helping reach goals and attract more of what you want in life. Those living the Nurtured Heart Approach strive for clarity and want to use their energy well. Thoughts can be repeated in your mind which help to change your mindset, and ultimately your behavior, in a way that is aligned with your goals. We can use creative visualization to achieve desired outcomes.

Choose a stressor you want to address more effectively as part of your 2020 vision.

Visualize your personal reset or the conscious decision to pause the flow of energy from problem situations. See yourself clearly stating your boundaries or mindfully looking for what is going right. Repeatedly see success and you're headed in the right direction.

"Think and feel yourself there! To achieve any aim in life, you need to project the end result. Think of the elation, the satisfaction, the joy! Carrying the ecstatic feeling will bring the desired goal into view."
~ Grace Speare
See the Change You Want to Be in the World
Visualization is best done at a time of relaxation and stillness which makes it ideal for early morning, before sleep or as part of a meditation practice. Below are some things to consider and questions to ask yourself when visualizing.
  • Accept what you don't want - How can I use Stand 1 (No to Negativity) to acknowledge and feel the negativity without getting swept up in an emotional cycle?
  • Know your wants - What do I value? What brings me the most joy in life?
  • Be true to self - What is the best version of myself?
  • Describe what you want in vivid detail - Get clear. What do I see? What do I hear, touch, taste and smell as I visualize?
  • Imagine the accompanying emotions - How do I feel when my visualization comes into existence? Stay with that sensation.
  • Take action What baby steps can I take?  What's the one thing I can do right now to move toward the visualization?
  • Persevere - How will I reengage when I face setbacks or resistance?
  • Detach - How can I let go of fear and release limiting beliefs related to the outcome?

Among many benefits, regular practice with visualization can support:
  • Calm under pressure
  • Improved performance
  • Increased confidence
  • Reduction of stress
  • Creativity and inspiration
  • Sense of purpose
  • Hope
  • Positive self-talk
Ultimately the positive aspects of visualization can impact relationships.
"Where imagination is the engine of your thoughts, your feelings are the fuel. Your e-motions are energy in motion - they bring your images to life."
~ Tania Katsos

Want not Worry

Focus visualizations on want rather than worry. This directly relates to Stands 1 and 2 (low energy to negativity, high energy to positivity).
While it's important to feel the pain and discomfort (to use as rocket fuel), move from the negative emotions to engage your senses and feel the change you wish to see. We can use our strengths and desires to stay present instead of wishing we could change the past.
