August's Featured Technique

Short Rows is a technique featured for August because the gentle curves are perfect for making nature inspired patterns. This includes KALS with kits to make several items using short rows. If you are new to short rows, learn how with the above pattern Running Uphill by Kay The Arky Designs. This infinity scarf, shown in progress above, is great way to practice wrap and turn, Japanese, or German short rows to see which you like best. This is also a great way to use single skeins of variegated yarns or scraps. It is shown above made with the Dream in Color July Sock it! Club yarn.
Elements of Nature Kit

Coming Soon! What better way to celebrate nature than a set of hats inspired by the elements of nature. The Elemental Hat kit comes with enough Malabrigo Silky Merino to make all five hats and the ebook "Elemental: 5 fabric-blending short row Hats" by Wooly Wormhead. These hats are knit sideways using short rows to get the flowing shapes. This is a great way to become skillful at this technique and have gifts done well before the holiday season.
Exclusive Falling Leaves Kit

We are excite to present the exclusive Falling Leaves Kit. This kit is perfect for making the Aeria shawl by Linnea Ornstein shown above. Similar shawls that can be made with the kit, by the same designer, are Rabatt, Bukett, and Karamella.
