1. COVID-19 Long-Weekend Updates 

Hope you stay healthy, physically distant, and socially connected survivors. 

Find lists of Drop-ins, Food programs, and mental health below. 

Get supports for financial needs (Income Security Advocacy Centre) and mental health below by phone 211. 

Seek justice and health for yourself and other people with disabilities.

And remember: many agencies and social services are closed or limiting services. Try to call ahead so you can be screened and you can get service. Find phone numbers of agencies at #211. And City of Toronto services at #311.

Good News: Sound Times is open for mental health and justice clients. And we can help members with most of your needs by phone (416-979-1700). If you do not have a phone, you can visit our location.

2. COVID-19 Resources

Long Weekend Meals - Through TDIN Network


The 519 (519 Church Street, Toronto)  is serving meals to-go throughout the Easter long weekend: 

Friday  1pm  &  4pm, Saturday  12:30pm, Sunday  12:30pm, Monday  1pm  &  4pm

The Corner Drop-in (260 Augusta Ave., Toronto) is closed Friday and Monday but open our usual hours 8-11:30am on Sunday. Our OPS is also open Sunday 8am-2pm, but closed on Friday and Monday.

Church of the Holy Trinity (19 Trinity Square) will be serving take-out from 11 am to 1 pm Good Friday, Easter Sunday and that Monday.

St. Stephen-in-the-fields (103 Bellevue Ave., 416-921-6350), Toronto will also be continuing all meal and drop in services through the long weekend.

St. Felix (25 Augusta Ave – rear door) will be open for the long weekend with to go meals during meal service & bagged sandwiches 24/7. Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon Breakfast 7:00 - 8:00 Lunch - 11:30 - 1:00 Dinner 5:00-6:30

PARC (1499 Queen St W.) is open Good Friday 12:30-4:30 and Easter Monday 9-1.  During both times will be providing meals at the door, and homeless folks can coming into the drop-in space for services.

Syme Woolner neighbourhood Family Centre (2468 Eglinton Ave W).

We are providing only takeaway breakfast and lunch 7 days/week (Due attention is paid to social distancing). Each day 50-60 takeaway meals are handed out

Our Place (1183 Davenport Road Lower Level - Entrance on, Delaware) is giving hot take-away meals on Friday, 2-5pm. We will be closed Sat/Sun/Mon and back to giving takeaway meals 2-5, Tuesday-Friday

The Stop (1884 Davenport Road, Toronto) is closed for Good Friday.  Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri – Take away Breakfast from 9am – 10am Take away Lunch from 12pm – 1pm. Foodbank Monday and Thursday from 12pm – 3pm Advocacy Office Phone Line – Monday to Friday from 10am – 2pm (416) 652-7867 ex. 243

Fred Victor CRC 40 Oaks will be closed Friday and Monday.

St. John the Compassionate Mission: Broadview Drop-in

St John's 155 Broadview Ave will be open regular hours Friday 5:00 am to 4:00 pm. Saturday 5:00 to 2:00 pm. Closed Friday & Saturday April 17-18, 2020 for Deep Cleaning

Warden Woods drop in is closed both Friday and Monday

Financial relief, EI and more are changing fast: updates (April 6)

Fnancial needs (Income Security Advocacy Centre) - excellent information about financial support for people on low income and ODSP. They explain what has changed and what is missing from supports under the Federal and Provincial Goverment.

Reach out for a friendly ear: Isolation can be hard

You can call and text for help or to hear a warm voice!

Toronto Public Health: Residents experiencing stress or crisis and requiring emotional support related to COVID-19 can access the following community resources:

Always check before heading out to an event. Legally events of under 5 people are permitted (as of writing) but many are cancelled for safety. Some of us are actually experts at surviving and thriving in isolation.

Drug users in British Columbia are facing two overlapping public health emergencies: COVID-19 and the overdose crisis. Now that countries are closing their borders–the price of street drugs have also started to rise.  It’s a grim time. Vancouver just saw the largest spike in fatal ODs since last year.  

But there’s also a glimmer of hope: the government has finally agreed to provide us with safer prescription alternatives to street drugs. If you have a “Substance Use Disorder” in British Columbia, you can now access a bunch of prescription opioids, benzos and stimulants –something we’ve been demanding for years.
