Mother Foucault's News & Events
December, 2017

Brrr! It's December in Portland! We're cold but the shop is cozy, and this Saturday evening it's going to be HOT, with music, a bar, and singing around piano that will echo across the Morrison Bridge! Before that, we've got a couple other things going on. After that, we're closing up shop a bit for the holiday. January Craig's on vacation, so events start up again in earnest February 1, 2018! See below for what's going on, this month, and in the coming year.

The second installment of Story Time for Grownups happens tonight (Thursday) at 7pm. David Loftus is an experienced and engaging storyteller, and he'll be in the shop on 2nd Thursdays sharing some of his (and our) favorite authors in a new, live story-sharing event. This month: Horror and Charm:
This weekend is our official BLOWOUT holiday party at the bookshop. Come by for drinks, live music and dancing. Make us your pre-party, your stopover, or your after-party, but whatever else you're doing on Saturday night, you're going to want to celebrate with us. The theme is sparkles. Dress and behave accordingly.
Friday night (that's tomorrow), join Leanne Grabel, Jenny Forrester, Douglas Spangle and Matthew Robinson in the bookshop for the launch of Gobshite Quarterly's Issue #29-30! Decorating for holiday party afterward if you stick around.
Stay tuned in 2018 for special events to start up again in February. Regular series will continue/resume in January as scheduled: Postal Social on 1st Tuesdays, OPP on 1st Fridays, Story Time for Grownups (2nd Thursdays), Last Thursdays of Humanity, jazz nights, and more. See you in the new year!
