Spring lays herself at our feet ...

Spring represents a new beginning, a fresh moment to ponder, "Where do I want to go from here?"

I am so awed as I look around me and see how this universe is formed from the elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether. These elements shape and reshape into everything we experience, creating this amazing existence called life! We are so blessed with a body and a lifetime, and spring inspires me to revisit what it is we want to do with them.

When I lay out my lifetime on a yard stick, and review proportionately where my current age is on that stick, I am nearer to the far end of it than I am at the beginning. So, I ask myself, what do I want to do with my time?  Pause, for one, and revisit my priorities and make sure they don't get forgotten while other things get in their way.

For me, right now, I want to "fully participate" while I can in whatever I do! I want to meditate a lot and spend more time in the presence of the Divine. And, take a good look at "me", my thoughts and my actions, in a conscious effort toward improvement.

As the fresh blossoms open and reveal their sacred centers to you, we invite you to take in their beauty, feel the essence of new beginnings, and discover whatever spring lays before you!  Namaste, Mugs and Bob
The Yogic Path of Grieving
by Brenda L. Feuerstein
I’d like to start by stressing that in terms of grief I don’t believe there is something to overcome, get over, and go through in some systemic manner, and there is no right and wrong way to grieve. Grief is a natural response to the loss of something or someone, and while it’s universal, the way it’s felt varies dependent on the individual. read more on grieving and see below how you can learn more from Brenda at the SOYA retreat!
SOYA's Annual Retreat with Brenda L. Feuerstein! May 31 - June 2

Brenda will take us on a journey of understanding the traditional teachings of yoga and then integrating them into everyday life. Yoga enhances the way we live in so many ways. Lets learn how to make the most of our yogic path!

Progressions to Purna Shalabasahana: Locust Pose
The Locust pose is a dynamic pose; a full body energizer and an excellent backbend for chest opening. The full pose is rather intimidating to most, but there are many ways to modify it so it becomes accessible. Here are a few progressions into the deeper forms of the pose.  read more on shalbasana
