Arriving at Cabrillo National Monument:
It is a safety hazard for cars to be lined up waiting for the gate to open for an event. If you arrive before 6 p.m., you will be turned around so a line does not form at the gate and block street access to residents, emergency personnel or workers in the area. Failure to comply may prohibit entrance into the event and Park.

  • Low profile chairs
  • Flashlights
  • Blankets and jackets
  • Picnic dinner (no alcohol allowed)

Spotlight:

NPS Partner Staff, Samantha Wynns

If you do not know Samantha, you should. Samantha Wynns is proud to serve the mission of the National Park Service - born outside of Yosemite National Park and raised next to Yellowstone National Park, she spent her childhood exploring, growing, and adventuring in "America's best idea". You could say that Sam has been sculpted by our national parks, and recognizes the pivotal role these beautiful places can have in someone's life - as such, she spends much of her time fostering a sense of appreciation for these public lands.
Whether she's enticing people to the parks through events like the recent BioBlitz, bringing the parks to the people through Cabrillo Community Outreach Initiative or science education lessons such as Conservation  + Comics, Sam is busy building community throughout San Diego County. She hopes that you will join her!
