A Word from Momma Witch - Programming Crystals

Programming your crystal is pretty much the same as making magick happen. First, find the crystal that you want or need to use. Different crystals have different qualities and purposes. They will all work for whatever you need, but I suppose it's like going to the Doctor. He or she will look after you but, if you need more help he will refer you to a consultant who specialises in whatever your condition is.

From this point, it's all about the energy and the intention. You need to concentrate and focus on what you wish the Crystal to help you with.
Relax and think about your purpose, then hold your cleansed crystal in both hands. You can hold it to a Chakra point if you are familiar with Chakras otherwise hold it close to your heart and express your desire in your thoughts and words.
You can say something like
“Please assist me in my desire to ...”
Or you can create a verse, here are a few words to get you started

"Little crystal I declare
Can you help me will you dare..."

Once you have programmed your crystal you can set it by someone's picture (if you are sending love or healing wishes to them, or you can set it in a crystal grid or an Antakaranah - (Instructions for that next week folks.)
Beginning with A
Amazonite:(Blue/green)  It is a stone which is good for communication allowing us to speak from the heart. It stimulates psychic our powers and has healing powers to help with physical and emotional issues, and helps to balance Chakras.
Amazonite filters out stresses, traumas, and provides calming energies in the home and workplace.
Chakra:Throat
Amber: (Yellow to golden orange)
Amber is actually petrified tree sap that is millions of years old. Some say that it attracts romantic love and wisdom, but more importantly,  Amber absorbs pain and negative energy, alleviates stress. Amber clears depression, stimulates the intellect and promotes self-confidence and creative self-expression. It encourages the decision-making process and stimulates spontaneity and brings balance and patience to the bearer. Amber to cleanse the home or office of negative vibrations.
Chakra: Solar Plexus

Mel’s Weekly Challenge

A couple of nights ago, I was going into the kitchen to make a cup of tea before bed, and I got the shock of my life at four slugs slithering across the kitchen floor! (They can really move when they want !)

I don’t like killing anything unless I have to. So I managed (in between bouts of heaving) to scoop them up and rehome them outside.
Slugs – one of the Goddesses creatures but they never fail to repulse and disgust me.  Its an ongoing issue from time to time – and we have no clue where they’re getting in – but I still wont put pellets or salt down.
Eventually, I got my tea and settled down for some quiet time before bed. This is when I do a lot of my thinking and mental sorting out (That and in the shower....!) and it occurred to me to question why I hate slugs so much. After a bit of thought I realised that....although their appearance is not pleasing, I don’t really understand them.
Now I used to be the same with spiders but managed to get over it to the point where I have giant house spiders resident in my living room and kitchen.
Again, I hadn’t really understood them until I decided to do a bit of research into them, and slowly but surely, I became ‘friends’ with them!
And so my quest to understand the humble slug begins!
I wonder, for us all – what in human life repulses and disgusts us?
Is it the person with the body odour problem?
Is it the person with an addiction issue or a mental health illness?
The truth is – there is always someone who makes us feel .... ugh, but I wonder how much of this is because we don’t understand the issues others face.
That person who is up one minute and crying the next, that girl who is always high, that man who drinks too much most of the time...
Where do the issues come from? In most cases, we will never know – and nor should we, but taking some time to understand addiction, mental health, poverty etc, will make us that bit more resilient and understanding, and then we will find that those people and situations don’t affect us anymore.
So my challenge this week is whatever or whomever you dislike (doesn’t have to be human – it could be a cow or a bug or something – to do a little research into it and see how – with baby steps – you can overcome that feeling! With love, light and oceans of love Mel  xx

Ginger
One of Claire's favourites - Ginger has been used culinary and medicinally for thousands of years, especially in the East. In the West it is well known as a digestive aid; in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia, it is specifically indicated for flatulent intestinal colic.
Crystallised ginger, sweets and tea are readily available to help relieve nausea and complaints of the digestive system.
It blends well with Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Rosewood, Cinnamon, Lime, Orange, Lemongrass and Neroli.
Properties:
With its woody & spicy scent, Ginger is warming, stimulating, antiseptic & anti-oxidant amongst its many properties. It has a particular affinity with the digestive system.
Mental Health/Nervous System Benefits
Use in massage, baths or vaporisation as per guidelines below for nervous exhaustion & fatigue.
Physical Health Benefits
As mentioned previously, Ginger has a particular affinity with the digestive system and can help relieve the symptoms of diarrhoea, colic, cramp, flatulence, indigestion, nausea, travel sickness & loss of appetite.
Use in massage or the bath as per guidelines below or, for gastric spasms use in a compress. For nausea & travel sickness pop a couple of drops on a tissue and inhale (preferably while sucking a ginger sweet).
It has also been known to be beneficial for the immune system – helping fight colds, chills, flu, fever & infectious diseases.
Diffuser Blend
A lovely blend to use in your diffuser or oil burner for boosting the immune system is
1 drop Ginger,
2 drops Lemongrass,
2 drops Lime – increase/decrease the number of drops depending on the size of the room.
Use in massage, vaporisation or steam inhalation to relieve catarrh, congestion, coughs, sinusitis & sore throats or relieve muscular aches & pains, arthritis & rheumatism pain, poor circulation, sprains & strains with a massage, compress, or in the bath
Spiritual Benefits
Use to anoint and balance the root chakra.
How to use:
Massage

Mix with a carrier oil such as grapeseed for massage (as a general rule use 1 drop of essential oil to 2 mls carrier oil based on a healthy adult.
Bath
Add 5-10 drops to a full bath and agitate well, the oil can be dissolved first in a teaspoon of bubble bath, carrier oil or full fat milk.
Vaporisation
Add to a diffuser or oil burner. Alternatively, add a few drops to a small bowl of water and place on a radiator or pop a few drops on a tissue and inhale.
Steam Inhalation
Add around 5 drops of oil to a bowl of hot water, cover the head and bowl with a towel and breathe deeply for a minute - then repeat. Always remember to close the eyes when using this method.
Skin Lotion
For skin issues oil can be added to a plain skin lotion for topical use. Or to a more nourishing oil such as Jojoba or Apricot Kernel oil. Follow the same dilution guidelines as massage.
Compress
Put 4 drops of oil into a bowl of hot or very cold water, take a flannel/facecloth and soak up the oil floating on the surface without fully immersing the cloth. Wring out the excess water and apply to the affected area.
SPECIAL CAUTION
Ginger can be slightly phototoxic so never apply before going out in the sun.
Can cause sensitisation in some individuals (carry out a patch test if unsure).
Always dilute well.
**Remember essential oils are highly concentrated & recommended dosage should never be exceeded. Always follow safety information and never take internally. Treat as medicines and keep out of reach of children. Some essential oils are not suitable for certain medical conditions – always seek advice if unsure**

A Spell to help you to find Balance

Balance using Cord Magick

The number two and the colour blue are useful for balance and you can use crystals such as Amazonite, Amber, Moss Agate, which helps coordination.
Use Moonstone to regulate menstrual flow and Rose quartz to balance your emotions. You can also use Calcite, Fluorite, Garnet, and Jasper.
Monday is a good day to begin this charm and it does not need to be untied. It can be hung in your home or workplace to maintain your emotional or spiritual balance. You can use cloth pouches to contain your chosen crystals and these should be tied at the eighth and ninth positions using the traditional knot verse and method.

Tying your Cord

Tie your first knot at one end and say “By knot of one my spell begun.”
Tie your second knot at the other end and say, “By knot of two it will come true.”
Tie your third knot in the middle and say, “By knot of three it comes to me.”
Tie your fourth knot between the first and third and say “By knot of four it’s at my door.”
Tie your fifth knot between the second and third knots and say “By knot of five my wish is doth thrive.”
Seal your cord by passing it through the candle flame five times.

Balance with Candle Magick

The best days of the week for this spell are Saturday’s or Sundays when the moon is waxing or full but not when it is waning.
Make a blend of oils using one teaspoonful of base oil such as sunflower or almond oil to which you add 1 drop of frankincense essential oil, which settles the mind and promotes contemplation.
Decorate your altar including pieces of your chosen crystals and use the colours white and blue.
Cast your circle then when you are ready, sit in front of your altar and focus your mind on your desire. Inscribe the following symbols at the top of a white or blue candle; the Astro glyph for Libra, the Rune symbol Inguz and the number 2.
When you are finished, anoint your candle with the oil from the middle to top then from middle to bottom. Empower your candle by rubbing it vigorously between your palms several times. Place your anointed candle on your altar and pray to your chosen deity. You can use the verse below or chant your own. Give thanks and close your circle when you are finished.
Balance comes to me I plea
I am calm for all to see
I ask this of the Powers that Be
May it be blessed by Ladies Three

The maiden Mother and the Crone
They will help me they alone
And so with gratitude I will see
I am balanced and set free

Free from fear and free from strife
Free to make the most of life
Struggle it now comes to an end
And challenges they become my friend

For this, I ask for this I plea. And it harm none So mote it Be

Your Weekly Horoscope from Soraya
18 - 24  August 2019
Aries
Pluto is still hanging around in your chart forcing changes that are likely to lead to a fresh start for you, so embrace the change and do whatever needs to be done to prepare yourself for the inevitable.
Taurus
Current influences are more likely to influences the future rather than the present and although there will be benefits it is up to you to plan ahead and prepare the ground for future improvements.
Gemini
This is not a particularly good period while the Moon squares up to Neptune (until the 19th) and chance are that you wont be able to comprehend just exactly what is going on. Be careful who you put your trust in.
Cancer
You may find that you shed some tears between the 18th and 21st and to be honest the rest of the week does not look much better. Avoid some of the problems that are lurking by curbing any unnecessary expenses.
Leo
Keep your head down Leo as the influences currently around you are likely to be negative rather than positive ones. Disagreements, arguments and irritations are to be expected and frankly no matter what you do it will annoy others.
Virgo
Don’t expect too much before the 23rd when the Moon and Mercury grace your chart with favourable influences. This lunar aspect may bring you into a new environment or role and much will depend on how you respond.
Libra
Your expenses may exceed your income during this period, and for this reason you should avoid extravagance or unnecessary generosity. To be honest, you should avoid extremes of any kind at this time.
Scorpio
Well it looks like more of the same … changes and more to do than you care to. Do you ever get fed up with the compromise? Never mind a wee financial boost will let you spoil yourself with a treat or two.
Sagittarius
Be careful this week while  Neptune causes mischief in your chart and don’t be surprised if you think you see things that aren’t there, trust me, they probably are and you are just catching a glimpse.
Capricorn
Feel inclined to study the magickal arts, no problem, this is the perfect time while this energy and vibration are strong in your chart. If that’s not your interest you might not even notice anything different.
Aquarius
This could be a thoughtful, pensive period for you Aquarius and you could be doing a lot of soul searching, but not much else. Nothing of any real significance is likely to occur at this time so take advantage of the quiet time.
Pisces
The position of the Moon and Jupiter in your chart continue to bestow blessings on you this week and it’s a particularly good time for social matters. You can make progress but it will depend on how much effort you put in.
I'm leaving the morning Ritual here for new members and as a reminder that if you remember the Goddess in your life She will remember you.
The Morning Ritual
Stand in front of a window and take a deep purifying in breath and visualise that you are breathing in sparkling light energy. Raise your hands high above your head and then clasp your hands together in the prayer position. Draw your hands down in front of your face, still clasped, down past your heart and then separate your hands and spread them as far apart as you can to each side. Visualise all your chakra points being activated and say the following prayer as you do so.

You who are the source of all power and good
Please show me what I need to know when I need to know it
Help me to listen with understanding and speak with wisdom
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
And the wisdom to change the things  I can change.
Please show me what I need to know so that I may understand.
The world is an abundant place and
I am grateful for those gifts I have already been given
And I am open and ready to receive
those gifts that are waiting to come to me

Visualise a purple cloak of protection being placed on your shoulders and draw your hands across your chest as though you are drawing the cloak over you.
You are now ready to begin your day and you can use this ritual at any time especially if you feel insecure anxious or worried.
