NEXTEUK Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Future of EU-UK Relations

Dear Follower,

We are very proud to inform you that the Centre for European Research has been awarded the prestigious Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Future of EU-UK Relationships (NEXTEUK) for the coming three years. NEXTEUK will fund research, teaching and public engagement activities related to the future of the European Union – United Kingdom relations. This is an outstanding achievement which recognises the hard work of CER and its team of experts in the past few years. The project brings an internationally recognised team of experts to lead on innovative and front edge research on the future of EU-UK relations.
Within this context our team will also expand soon as we are currently hiring. Finally we are starting the academic year with exciting events which involve debates on the use of referendums in Europe, the mobilisation of pro-European forces in Europe and the future of UK's democracy.
Looking forward to seeing you at our events.
Dr Sarah Wolff, Director of CER

Centre for European Research becomes prestigious Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on the Future of UK-EU Relations

NEXTEUK will offer a structured space for academic and policy reflection on the future of the EU-UK relationship. Specifically, the project will assess the historical achievements of the EU-UK relationship so far and identify best practice. It will analyse the roots of Brexit and its implications for European integration and British politics while offering forward-looking analysis on the future of the EU-UK relationship and formulate policy-relevant recommendations.
