New Flyer: Leading the Char

The latest from New Flyer | April 3, 2019

According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, 80% of the global bus fleet is expected to be electric by 2040. As part of North America’s largest bus manufacturer, New Flyer is driven to help transit agencies manage battery-electric technology and performance in transitioning to zero-emission bus (ZEB) fleets. Here's where Connect 360™ comes in.

What is it? Launched January 2019,
Connect 360™ is a cloud-based performance reporting dashboard, designed specifically for
Xcelsior CHARGE™ battery-electric buses, and powered by New Flyer Connect®. It is included on every new Xcelsior CHARGE™ bus.

What does it do?
Connect 360™ tracks ZEB operational performance in real-time, delivering analytics by translating performance data into a visually intuitive dashboard. The dashboard can be accessed by desktop, tablet, and smartphone devices.

What does this mean for transit agencies? ZEB performance can now be managed in real-time, allowing agencies to optimize bus and operator performance to increase operational efficiency. Take a look below to see what you can expect from your performance dashboard.

With real-time performance analytics at your fingertips, you can improve transit efficiency, gain perspective on zero-emission bus operations, and support workforce development in motion. We're here to help get the most out of your zero-emission, battery-electric bus fleet.

What are the details?
On March 18, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced its 2019 Low or No-Emission (Low-No) Grant Program, with a total of $85 million available to support the purchase or lease of low or no-emission vehicles. With over 50 years of experience manufacturing zero-emission buses, New Flyer has learned a thing or two about Low-No. We're here to make it easier for you.

How can New Flyer help?
Our team of experts will support proposal development by serving as your sounding board with Low-No expertise. This includes providing technical support, sharing best practices and technical guidance, and identifying other important elements to successful low or no-emission bus planning and adoption - including the critical element of
infrastructure and charging systems.

When are proposals due?

Tuesday, May 14 by 11:59 p.m. EST. For eligibility requirements, visit the FTA Low or No-Emission Vehicle Program page here. For the FTA notice of funding page, click here
