New Flyer's Vehicle Innovation Center Honored with CUTA Award
This week, New Flyer receives a CUTA 2019 Corporate Leadership Award, recognizing the Vehicle Innovation Center (VIC) as a hub for technology advancement and workforce development. This marks the second award for the VIC in 2019, with the first presented by the American Public Transit Association.

Built and opened by New Flyer in 2017, the VIC is North America's first innovation lab of its kind, with a vision to explore and advance bus technology connecting people to places, achieved through educational programming, research and development, and industry collaboration.

McNeill named to Canada's Clean50 for outstanding clean energy contribution

New Flyer's own Jennifer McNeill, Vice President and Sales and Marketing, was named an Honouree of Canada's prestigious Clean50 list for 2020, recognizing Canada’s leaders advancing sustainability across sixteen categories for outstanding contribution to the clean energy economy. McNeill was also named to the Clean16 as the category leader for Manufacturing and Transportation.

McNeill is a longtime advocate of zero-emission bus adoption in North America, and spearheaded New Flyer’s support of smart city development through smart, sustainable, mobility solutions
. She also serves on the boards of CUTA and the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium. This week, McNeill moderates CUTA's panel on fleet electrification on Monday, November 11.

New Flyer's Kate Parnala in the Clean Energy Workforce Spotlight

Kate Parnala, a member of New Flyer's manufacturing team, was recently featured in Clean Energy Canada's "Faces of Clean Energy" report. She moved to Canada eight years ago from the Philippines and for the last six years, has worked as a manufacturing engineering technologist focused on electrical component production. Parnala is one of many in the clean energy workforce who are learning, growing, and supporting greater zero-emission adoption across North America.
