New Flyer delivers the first 60-foot electric bus in Texas
New Flyer recently delivered the first 60-foot battery-electric bus into the state of Texas, continuing to support the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro) in making its zero-emission vision a reality for Austin. In a region where transportation accounts for 36% of greenhouse gas emissions, CapMetro estimates that a full year with 12 electric buses in service could cut enough emissions to equate the annual carbon-consuming power of 333 acres of forest.
"It's the bus of the future."
Randy Clarke, CEO, CapMetro

New Flyer's Barry Karlenzig leads annual Pride Celebrations
New Flyer is home to many standout community leaders, and Technical Sales Analyst Barry Karlenzig is no exception. Having supported human rights and the national pride community for years, he was named President of Pride Winnipeg in 2019. Facing the challenges of a pandemic, he quickly innovated its annual 50,000-person festival to instead celebrate 2020 pride through a digital-only platform in September, successfully continuing the important dialogue and celebrations for the Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diverse (GSRD) community. Congratulations Barry!

“We are there in the community, we grow as a community, and we build as a community.”
Barry Karlenzig
