Projects We Support
Our reason for being is to show that businesses can act responsibly and still make decent returns. A key part of that is giving 10% of the price you pay for your coffee to community projects in the UK. We support people with ideas for making a difference to achieve their aims.

We're delighted to be supporting The Bus Shelter MK. They get homeless people off the streets, give them a temporary home in a converted double-decker bus, and then help them to find a job and a permanent home. So far we have raised £57.12 with your support. Find out more about them at

We have also partnered with our friends at Leyton Yoga. Whenever a member of the Leyton Yoga community buys our coffee - available in the studio and online - we donate 10% of the price to their community fund. This currently sits at £25.08 and the staff and customers will decide which Leyton project to support. Take a look at their classes and holistic treatments over at
ShareTrade Coffee
"A tale of 2 coffees: Prices are at all-time highs, yet growers continue to struggle."

In this article you can learn more about the challenges faced by many coffee growers across the world:

This is why we support ShareTrade. Our coffee farmers earn roughly twice the normal market price, even more than they would with FairTrade. This ensures the farmer can earn 1.5 times the national living wage and contributes to a social benefits scheme covering education, health and pension needs.

The ShareTrade scheme works with the farmer to create a farm transformation plan capable of making the farm economically and environmentally sustainable and provides access to expert agronomy advice and financial loans to ensure the farmer can implement the plans and course correct as necessary. Brewing Methods
There are now so many different methods for making specialty coffee at home it can be a little daunting. A low cost entry-level method is the V60 dripper. With the basic dripper starting at £5, all you need then are some filter papers which cost 4-5p each and some 519 Colombia ShareTrade. With a dripper you should go for a medium grind.

Founder's Story
Bean Capital Coffee was four years in the making and the original concept was to introduce compostable capsules for Nespresso machines. We are still planning to venture into this market in the future but for now we're focussing on bringing you the freshest and best quality speciality coffee in the form of whole beans or your preferred grind. There have been plenty of ups and downs in the journey and you can read more of our story in this excellent article in Life & Soul Magazine:

I will be sharing more in future issues, but in the meantime if you're a successful business owner and have tips to share, or an aspiring entrepreneur looking for support, please get in touch.

We will also be looking to host some events in the near future so you can learn more about the journey your coffee goes on from farm to cup and also hear from the projects we're supporting.

Thanks for reading! Please follow us on social media below for regular updates.
