THE SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!

The 2022/23 season is fast approaching and your newly re-elected Board of Directors is hard at work planning an even better member experience this coming year! And it all kicks off with the Community Shield Final against Manchester City on July 30th, 2022. Kick-off 12 Noon.

Jake, Sam, Yvi, Reagan, and Dan send their thanks to all who attended the LFC Toronto Annual General Meeting and Summer Social event, and for your support and encouragement in re-electing everyone to their previous positions on the board. Special thanks also to the committee chairs and all the volunteers who were indispensable in a breakthrough year for our fan club.

We've already had several strategic and operational meetings to kick off this year, and we are more excited than ever. Please see below for some important updates from the Executive.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY

As part of our commitment to the community, throughout the 2021/22 season, we collectively raised money to support a local mental health initiative called The Friendship Bench.

A cheque for $1,500 was presented to the Not For Profit during our Annual General Meeting, which will be matched by the organization. That funding will be used to provide a permanent student mental health initiative at a Toronto-based high school.

We'd like to hear from you: What deserving high school in the community should receive this bench and mental health initiative? Please reach out to the Executive directly by replying to this email or by using the contact form on our website with your suggestions.

NEW PUBS

LFC Toronto is proud to announce that for the 2022/23 season, our official home pubs in the Greater Toronto Area will be: Elephant & Castle on King St. in downtown Toronto and for those of you out West, The Slye Fox on New Street in Burlington.

We trailled a number of events at these pubs last year and based on the incredible support received by the management and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our fans, we've made the decision to host all our watch parties at these pubs this year.

To better serve our membership base, we'll be continuing to look for other venues to add to our list of official pubs. Stay tuned for more. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at one of these pubs come game day!

FIRST MATCH OF THE SEASON!

Another huge match against our Manchester City rivals is on deck this July 30th at 12:00 pm. It will be screened at our home pubs the Elephant and Castle in Toronto as well as The Slye Fox in Burlington.

Reservations are not required but LFC Toronto Members will be given access to the pub at 10 AM to kick off the festivities and grab their favourite seats. Doors will open to the public at 11 AM.

We are looking for many people from Pub Ambassadors to Social Media and Community Managers, LFC Toronto Street Team, event support, writers and much more.

Pub Ambassador

Liverpool FC is one of the greatest football clubs in the world and the Greater Toronto Area is home to one of the largest groups of LFC fans this side of the Mersey River. And that's why OLSC Toronto has set up multiple "official home pubs" where our thousands of fans can gather to watch each match throughout the season.

To support the member experience, this year OLSC Toronto is seeking Pub Ambassadors to support the Executive coordinating the matchday experience.

Subcommittee: Marketing & Communications

One of OLSC Toronto's goals is to build and support a strong Liverpool FC community across the GTA. This means we need to increase our digital footprint to encourage, recognize, and reward fans wherever they are.

We do this through social media/digital engagement across various platforms , including our website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. So we're looking for volunteers to help develop and work on a communication plan, create, post, and monitor content across our platforms. We also need people to help manage live matchday threads on our Facebook page.

LFC TORONTO 22/23 MEMBERSHIPS

The Exec group is working hard to align all the details for this year's memberships for the new Liverpool FC Toronto season. Look out for information in this space for the membership announcements. We will have memberships on sale shortly, with various new member perks and discounts.

There are a lot of things planned for this year rewind events and outings, contests and member draws as well as LFC Legend player visits for a start.

We are trying our best to get perks from all around the world, if you or anyone you know, has any contacts or discounts we can leverage, please do let us know.

Here we are, the start of the new season of footie, join in and match your skills against all of the LFC fans all over the world.

We only have one rule, which is no Mancs on your squad.
