JULY UPDATE

Hello Everyone,

Summer is a great time to incorporate Alexander Technique into your life! Walking, swimming, and being outdoors in nature are all good ways to contemplate how you use yourself.

TIPS

SWIMMING


When you swim, notice how your body is supported by the water. Let that sensation sink in (no pun intended) and relax into it. Notice how the head leads the body forward. 


WALKING


When you walk, explore the sensation of feet on the ground, and your natural capacity to balance and rebalance on varied, sometimes uneven, surfaces. There are 26 bones in each foot and hundreds of nerve endings constantly informing your balance. 


REFLECTING


Notice how your breathing changes when you are surrounded by nature. Your nervous system is calmed by the sights, sounds and smells around you.
