.

OFHSA Board of Managers was invited to a conference call with the Minister of Education Stephen Lecce.

Here are the items that we advocated for;

  • A formal letter from the Minister recognizing OFHSA as one of the 4 recognized Provincial Parent groups.  This would help us have a concrete material to support us connecting with different school boards to try to branch out and establish new Associations in new School Boards.
  • More opportunities for partnership
  • Assistance in particular connecting with the Windsor and Toronto school boards
  • Support in advocating to school boards to adopt similar policy to Thames Valley District School Board for the Community Use of Schools department which allows Home and School Associations to utilize school board spaces free of charge during hours where an employee is already at the building and paying only custodial fees on weekends
