HCA version 17 now available for upgrade purchase

The last six months have been a difficult time for everyone, and we all know it. To make it yet worse, here in the Pacific Northwest we have been locked inside for the last weeks due to very unhealthy air from the forest fires. All this has made collaborative design and implementation difficult, but we struggled through.

Today we are announcing that HCA version 17 is now available. This email would be pages and pages long if I tried to detail all the changes here. During development a running log of changes was kept, and the last entry in the log was change #138!

Rather than an item by item change log, we put together PDFs grouping all changes in a similar area into one place. And there are many bug fixes as well.

Before you do anything, please take some time to look at all the developers have done. You can access these major version release notes from here:

If you are interested in these new changes, upgrades are available here:

Just scroll down to the section titled “For Users upgrading to a new major version”.

A big thanks to all the users who participated in the open Beta and provided comments and bug reports. We put a lot into this version, and we hope you will find it useful.

HCA Server machines
We still have available Windows 10 small footprint computers that are perfect for running the HCA Server. We do all the updates for you - yes, even the big Windows 2004 update, install HCA, and get it all ready for 24/7 operation. And with the HCA design backup/computer move tool, getting up and running only take minutes after you get this new machine. Want more info? It's all on the website HCA Server Computer page.

User-to-User forum

An HCA User who wanted to set up a forum for user-to-user communication. I'm passing this on, but please know that this is not a HCA company project and I will not be spending much time there so I don't know how this will work out. Here is a link to what he set up.

Want to take the next step in automation? Want to get started with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and control HCA by voice commands? Even if you are a long-time user of HCA, the Getting Started guides have all the info you need on client-server, mobile applications, DDNS, and voice assistants.
