State Solo & Ensemble Information
Dear Music Educators,
First, welcome to the beginning of the end of the year. I hope this year has been good to you and that you have been able to create music in your classes in whatever capacity it was allowed you. I am excited that we are able to hold this event virtually, but will miss seeing many of you over that weekend. This email will hopefully answer many of your questions regarding the upcoming event, but if you have others, please don't hesitate to email and ask.
Most of you are aware that we will be using the app HeartOut. You will need to download the app on whatever device you choose to record your students on. There will be a Director's Guide to using the app posted on the website in a few days that you will be able to use as reference. Registration will also open up this week, and I am asking that all directors please get all qualified students registered by the end of the month. This is your responsibility. By doing that, I will be able to contact any alternates that we may have and get all of the student information to the people at HeartOut to then get them to the judges. Results will then be available about a week after the recording deadline. I am anticipating May 10.
All checks must be in to Karen Randolph by April 23rd for early bird fee. Late fees will be applied after that. All fees, late or not, will be due before May 1 or your recording will not be submitted to the judges.
Please let me know if you have other questions. I wish you all the best luck!
