For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.  - Jeremiah 29:11

As many of you know by now, Erik Lindemann will be entering seminary on a full-time basis this fall. He is leaving First Presbyterian, after 5 years of service as Director of Discipleship, at the end of this month. We will miss Erik greatly, but we also know this is his calling. I am grateful he has chosen to hear God’s call on his life and will faithfully begin this new chapter.

We wish to celebrate Erik’s time with us and to also wish him Godspeed in all his future endeavors. Regrettably, our goodbye’s will need to be virtual.

Erik’s last Sunday will be July 19, when he will preach.  We want to encourage everyone to use Zoom, either using video or phone, to participate in the service.  And to stay following the benediction for a special live virtual blessing as we say farewell and Godspeed.

If you have not Zoomed before, and need instructions, please let the church office know. We will send the necessary links for the service on Friday and Sunday the 17th and 19th, respectively.

Stay safe and God’s blessings,

The session met Sunday June 28 via zoom to receive the confirmation class into membership. Under normal circumstances this would have been done at the end of March and the confirmands would have been presented to the congregation on April 5. This is a special group of young people and it has been a privilege to know them and work with them. Congratulations to all six and their families.
Wednesday Bible Study at 10:30 am and 7:00 pm.
One (The Woodlawn Study)

In 1973, Birmingham, AL was torn by racism and hate. God worked through the Woodlawn High School football team to unite the city and ignite a spiritual awakening. This revival was nothing short of miraculous. Could it happen again? ONE (The Woodlawn Study) features powerful scenes and exclusive footage from the movie Woodlawn to discover the only takes one person to start a revolution. What if that person is you? With teaching by Pastors Dave Stone and Dr. Tony Evans, ONE (The Woodlawn Study) prepares your heart to experience and embrace a move of God.

Children's virtual Sunday School
In July, we're continuing our Summer Sunday School Series learning how everything changes when we "focus" on Jesus! We'll be reading about various leaders of the early church and how they lived out their faith.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
